Dicovering your inner strength

1. Discovering new challenges

If you think you are weak and considering giving up on yourself, I must tell you that would be a mistake on your part. Trust me, I have gone through my pains, my struggles, my defeats, my misery, and my pain, and will continue to go through that every day as I go through my weight loss journey. I let my excuses and weaknesses get in the way of my goal. But one day, I looked in the mirror and told myself, “No more excuses.” It was time to really work. Put in work, do the work, and stop complaining about the work. And damn it was when I rediscovered my inner strength underneath my weak spirit. My spirit grew stronger. Now, I am not finished with my journey by a long shot. I will always be working progress just like every person on this earth. But, finding my inner strength has been the best thing for me, and I can’t tell you how much better I feel about myself. The steps I take.

1. Accepting new challenges.

2. Physically challenging myself

3. Mentally challenging myself

4. Never accepting defeat

5. Removing toxic energy.

There will be a thousand more steps you can take for your journey of inner strength, but for me, those are some of the few steps I take, and there will be more to come. You will grow, and you will learn, and you will endure to build a new you. During the height of the pandemic, I grew scared of the world. I was letting my anxiety defeat me every day. Missing out on great moments and feeling sorry for myself and just eating fast food every day. I’m sitting on my butt watching youtube clips and playing Madden all day. I was wasting away, and here was the real sad part. I had a gym membership and was doing nothing with it. One day, I talked to one of my best friends, who was helping his mom while battling throat cancer. But she kept fighting, not letting her cancer be an excuse, and we had a heart to heart talk, and she told me, “I am very concerned about your health, Devin.” She was talking to me like a concerned mom. And of course I gave her the old classic “I’ll work on it”. She looked me dead in the eyes, held my hand, and said, “No, you won’t.” It broke me because deep down, I knew she was right.

Something in my said to me, “This is your last chance,” and I kept listening to her in my mind with those words, “No, you won’t.” And kept hearing it over and over, and honestly, I got sick of it. I think she knew those words would drive me to do something, and thank goddness, she said those words. The first thing was to help with my mental health, so I seeked therapy. It was a major help. Then, I decided to use my gym membership and push myself to limit that I never thought I could reach. I wanted more; I wanted to keep pushing challenges, pushing for more, and more. I was done with fast food. I began hating my couch, lol. I just wanted to see what limits can go past.

1. 3:30 am 1 hr yoga session

2. 2 hour work out session at gym

3. Finding new challenges

4. Meditation

5. Work on new projects

6. Strict diet plan

7. Do it all over again.

8. Never give up on the goals

9. Endure punsishment and defeats

10. Learn from that punishment and defeats

A little sweat never hurt nobody, and a deafeat doesn’t mean you have to stay defeated. The struggles and losses were massive, but I wanted that, not for the excuses to give, but I wanted to learn. I didn’t mind embarrassing myself at the gym. I wanted to come back to prove myself, “I can f***ing do this.” Everyday, I told myself that and still do. I guess the reason why I am sharing this is because there are people out there going through the same struggles that I am going through, and I want to tell you and all of you. YOU CAN F***ING DO IT!!! All you have to is just get up and try.

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog, and if you have experience, please share your story, give helping tips, or just give a motivation speech. Anything for positive energy helps. But in the meantime, thank you and have a good day. Peace.

The Batman: Spoiler Free Review.

As the weekend has now passed, we sit with most likely over thousands of Batman reviews, and another review appears from the shadows. Just kidding, I write this review from the comfort of my living room. But when we saw this movie at our local theater it was a packed house. Full of fans and most likely youtuber movie critics covered in batman attire, it was a fun night to watch a new Batman rise, and I will tell you this. This movie was most definitely delivered.  From the atmosphere, the music, the action, the suspense, the characters, the direction, the grimness, and, of course, The Batman.

The Batman

When it was first announced that Robert Pattinson was playing Batman, I didn’t really know much about his previous work. I never watched the Twilight movies, not that I was hating on them. I just didn’t have an interest in watching, but overall, from what everybody told me about his acting, he is a really great actor and his performance as a more menacing and reckless Batman he did a very great job and cant wait to see what has for the future.

Jim Gordan

The Premise. Gotham City on a cold halloween night is caught off guard by murder of a power official in Gotham city. A man leaves a calling card with a riddle inside for a two year veteran Batman. Jim Gordan needs his help to help solve these murders and riddles, but the rest of the police force does not trust Vigilante. While Batman struggles with the Riddler murders a young Bruce Wayne struggle stuggles with family secrets that come out. Now, Bruce Wayne must overcome the demons and face the challenges, but he also needs the aid of Selena Kyle, Aka Catwoman, while he faces other enemies like Oswald Cobbelpot and Carmine Falcone.

Catwoman

I got to say for me personally that this was my favorite catwoman that I have ever seen on the big screen. She was very strong, slick, and loved her look, and I must admit I have a big crush on Zoe Kravitz, so I was already sold when she announced to play Catwoman and I hope at some point she gets her own spinoff. She definitely deserves it, in my opinion. Then theres

The penguin

This was my favorite overall character in the movie, and it’s incredible how they turned Collin Farrell into the Penguin. I still can not reconize him when I look into the picture. He was brash, had some funny lines, and this was the penguin i always wanted to see. I know everybody loves Danny Devitos penguin, but for this, Penguin blows Batman Retuns penguin out of the water for me and can not wait to see Hbo max series.

The tone of this movie was incredible; it was very dark and grim. It almost gave me a feel.of the first Tim Burton movie while the music blended in with Nirvana gave me a Batman Returns vibe. Also, Matt Reeves direction gives this movie a slight horror tone the movie.

The Riddler

I loved this Riddler; he was scary, his voice, his riddles, and his presence was so creepy and fit perfectly to the movie. We all love Jim Carrey as the Riddler, but this character was in a desperate need of an upgrade, and we definitely got that for this character.

Overall Grade A+

This movie was a masterpiece for me and can not wait for a sequel. Now, am I going to say this was the best Batman movie? I am not ready to give it that crown, but with a test of time, more.views and may just become that. Now, even if you do not agree with this review, at least we can all agree on one thing. This movie is for sure better than Batman and Robin. But all jokes aside, I loved this movie, and I want to watch again, but I do not want to sit for that long again. Tell me what you thought about the movie. Your likes and dislikes. What do you want to see for a sequel, and what characters do you want to see join this new Batman universe? But thank you so much for taking your time to read this review and until next be safe and much love to my followers and readers. Have a great day.

Spoiler Free Review Of Peacemaker.

Funnest superhero show out there since Invincible.

After watching John Cena performance in “The Suicide Squad” movie last year and after it was announced that a series was on the way I didnt take too much stock into it. Not that i have anything against John Cena or the character I just didnt make the time to get excited about it. But one day at the gym a couple of buddies of mine were telling me how great the first 3 episodes were and i got interested. I just finished the Show “Reacher” on amazon prime and after that show i decided to give Peacemaker a chance and I am very happy that I did. The action is on point, fight scenes are intense as hell, the humor is something straight from a college frat house and the easter eggs and Dc Lore is amzing to watch unfold.

The premise

Peacemaker is once again recruited for another mission with a lask luster Task Force X team to help stop a secret invasion and almost everybody knows what is going on…every one except Peacemaker himself. When he dives in more into the mission the more back story, bad history and bad blood rises out of Peacemaker in a very funny way.

The hero we deserve?

As a big time comic nerd i couldnt tell you anything about Peacemaker. All i know is when the job needs to get done, he will get it done one way or the other. When i see Peacemaker in action he reminds me alot of a more Jock like Punisher and John Cena does amazing job of bringing that aspect alive on this show. Even though John Cena is a mega star at this point in his career, i think this role is the one most people are going to really remember him as post wrestling career.

Team work at its finest

The overall supporting cast has great moments in the show and they carry their own weight and help elevate John Cena in the show. Each character brings a unique trait to the show and they deliever quite well. I honestly didnt have any issues with any of the characters and alaways excited to see what was going to happen next with each character. Also the cameos in the show are amazing.

The Humor

The show starts off hilarious with the intro. The dance scene in the intro is perfect and they did an amzing job. Even Robert Patrick gets in on the dance scene. James Gunn who is a hit or miss with me knows his dark and violent comedy and he never misses a beat. Say what you want about the guy but he does a great job of bringing not so very popular characters from the comics and bringing some life to them on the big or small screen and giving them alot of great humor material to work with.

Even this guy is hilarious in the show.

Overall Grade i actually give Peacemaker a Solid A and do not have any gripes with this show. I am really looking foward to seeing season 2 and I cant wait to see what James Gunn has in store for the DCU. If you haven’t seen the show yet I promise you, you will not be dissapointed. But if you have please leave a comment and let me what you liked or disliked about the show. Later this week I will leave my spoiler free review of “The Batman”. Until thank you for taking the time to read this review and trust me I already know there is a thousand reviews for thks but it means a great deal to me that you took the time to read mine. Until next time be safe and enjoy life. Peace

My Halloween Movies Ranking

Today is the day a lot of horror movie fans have been waiting for. Today “Halloween Kills” is coming to theaters and Peacock streaming service. And as a fan of this franchise since i was a kid. Over the years this crazed halloween serial killer has gone through 11 different movies in which one of them Michael only appears in a TV ad in a bar scene in the movie “Halloween 3. The season of the Witch”. But overall i am even adding that movie on the list. This movie franchise defiantly has its up’s and downs but i take all the bad with the good. Of course i am not happy with the bad ones but it still feels good to watch the bad ones on a cool fall night. Overall Michael Myers has survived everything you can throw at him, bullets, knives, fire, fists, kicks, bad writing, bad executive decisions, reboots, more bad writing, bad ideas and more reboots. Since the new movie comes out today i thought it would be a nice touch to give you My Halloween movie rankings. And to start off the list and probably at no surprise

11.

This franchise killer is dead last on the list and rightfully so. From a kung fu Busta Rhymes, the bad casting and a plot that was pretty much trying to copy the success of “The Osbournes” and other reality shows at the time, this movie falls flat and never gets up. Its D.O.A. I mean the editing is terrible, just watch the party scene and you will see what i am talking about. This movie was a mistake and too a lot of fans this movie does not exist and i can not blame them. This movie sucks….. not number 10

10.

I know some of this movie has some pretty cool moments and has a touch from John Carpenter but want to see Michael Myers but what i got was a Doctor who pretty much didn’t want to deal with his kids who enjoyed a nice scotch or 5 of them. Overall John Carpenter wanted to move on from Michael and well this is what we got. If you want a killer well Robots are your killers in this movie along along with masks that kills the kids on halloween night from watching a TV ad from “Silver Shamrock”. Now i have heard this movie a decent following and if you are a fan of this movie, more power to you. On to the next at number 9 is…….

9.

Ah Halloween 5 The revenge of Michael Myers. Another black eye on the franchise. The movie that wrote the franchise into a tough spot and pretty much nearly killed the franchise after having such a great comeback from the previous entry. From killing of hero in the last movie to the forced horrible comedy with the goofy cops with their goofy theme when they enter the scene. This movie is just plan bad and just hard to watch. The characters are are annoying and Dr Sam Loomis has lost his mind and kind of funny to watch but overall this movie usually gets passed and deserves it. Next on the list…..

8.

Now i am going to say this, i actually do not hate this movie, but this movie did not feel like a Halloween movie, this felt like something you let your friend borrow something and then two years you get it back and object is ruined and you have to throw it away and buy a new one. This is what that movie is and was another franchise killer. Rob Zombie had free range on this movie and it really shows. From the white horse, the ghost mom, horrible characters and the worse Dr Loomis i have ever watched but this movie does has some qualities that i enjoy. This one goes really dark and gritty and Michael Myers is more ruthless. But thats about really it. On to the next movie

7.

Now this one a has a great following but for me this one is very slow and kind if drags on. John Carpenter did not want to do this movie, everybody knows that story but for me i can really see he didn’t want to do this. The firs act of this movie is great but when it gets to the middle, it gets boring and at the point i just kind of want the movie to hurry up and get over with it has some pretty iconic scenes in this movie as well. Good suspense and Dr Loomis i feel is at his best. Next on the list.

6.

Okay this is one of my guilty pleasures in he franchise. I know its so bad but yet good. Now there is some very questionable writing in this movie but you know what, this is Michael Myers (to me) at his most powerful. Its Michael Myers on steroids with heavy metal playing in his ears as he walking towards his prey to kill them. I love this one because as a kid me and my friends would always watch after a full day of football in the fall. This movie has a great fall atmosphere. Sadly this would be the great Donald Plesance last performance for the series since he passed away before the movies theatrical release in september of 1995. Next in the list is……

5.

Before Rob Zombie lost the rest of his mind he made this 2007 remake and for me i really enjoyed. It does have a lot of issues like the fact almost every guy looked like Rib Zombie and almost everybody talked like Rob Zombie (problaby). This movie came out five years late after the god awful Halloween Resurrection and brought back life into the franchise. Michael Myers was a giant and scary again but one problem, they gave The Shape a back story and not a very good one. But its way better then the sequel next on the list.

4.

True story, this was the first Halloween movie i have ever scene. At only five years old, my dad let me watch it with him when he rented because my parents were more afraid of us walking down the Street in Oakland california in the late 80s then horror movies. But when i first watched it i really liked it and told my friends about the movie. From the god awful acting to it being a product of the times, this movie just sticks to me and its so fun to watch. Even with a terrible mask, Michael Myers is still scary very creative with his kills. You should see what he does with a shotgun. And with the great dark fall atmosphere and creepy soundtrack, this movie can never be passed up. Next on the list…..

3.

At the controversial number 3 slot comes the original. Now this was not first one i have seen in the series. I didn’t see this one until i was 10 years old so i was really late to the party. I love this movie but it was neve really scary and at ten years old listening to the dialogue always made me laugh but the stalking, the way he killed almost like a ninja. The escape scene from the institution was very creepy. This movie is very iconic and helped the slasher franchise breath and it can not be denied that this movie was a blueprint for classic horror to take notes from. Its a movie that can never be passed up during this time of the year. At number 2

2.

The first Halloween movie i ever seen in theaters and this movie did not disappoint. From the return of Jamie Lee Curtis, to stripping of Michael Myers of the Thorn Cult, psychic links with his niece (who does not exist in this time line) made Michael Myers cool again. But he wasn’t scary due to the horrible mask selections throughout the movie. Why they couldn’t have one mask and a good one is beyond me but overall this was my favorite one of the series for years. I also wish they had better music to this but thats really my only complaints about this entry. Now for the number 1 pick.

1.

I loved this one so much i actually watched it twice in theaters. To restarting the whole time-line, bringing back a much more rugged Laurie Strode and this time she is not playing. Michael Myers is now more ruthless then ever and to not make them brother and sister was a very good idea. I know a lot of people may have an issue with this being at number 1 but i just thought it was so great and Michael myers is at his scariest and i love the story is back down to basics and the music is so perfect. And it came out in October which made it even better.

This the my halloween movies ranking. If you have your ranking please do not be shy and share your ranking with this blog or share it to the world. Also let me know if you will be watching Halloween Kills. But thank you for reading this blog hope you guys enjoy the new movie. Have a good time and Happy Halloween.

Movie’s too watch for the Halloween season.

My favorite time of the year is here, my halloween spirit is up along with the decorations covering up my house. Classic horror movies are on the TV. The weather is cooler and crock pot meals are cooking at rapid pace. And just like every september where I watch a marathon of Martial Arts movie for my birthday, October is no different. The halloween season marathon has begun. Now of  course I watched the classics like “Halloween movies” “Friday the 13th movies” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street movies” “A Nightmare Before Christmas” but there are others that I would recommend outside of those classic films. So today I bring you my top ten Halloween season movies.

1.

This late 70’s horror classic has everything you want, (well almost everything). If “Jaws” made you want to stay out of the water then this movie will make you want to stay out of funeral homes. This chilling old school horror keeps a creepy vibe with a eerie story to it and the music to this movie is really cool to listen to. Now for a lot of todays audience I think a lot of people forgot about this franchise but if you come across it, give it a chance. Its not the scariest movie in the world but it defiantly has a very creepy vibe to it. With blood thirsty dwarfs, flying metal sphere balls flying into peoples heads and causing them to bleed out like a standing hose, this movie fits well with the season.

2.

Parents if you are looking for something to watch with the kiddos then look no further then “ParaNorman”. This 2012 animation is now on Netflix. The animation is cool, the story is funny and there is a lot of adult humor in it. Overall its a fun movie and I don’t think the kids will be disappointed from this one.

3.

“Some motherf***kers’ are always trying to ice-skate uphill”

Who would of thought brutal action horror would be the one to save the superhero franchise. Well this is the grandaddy of them all. Blade 1 and 2 are classics and fit perfectly for the halloween season.  You got blood, gore, horror, vampires and Wesley Snipes as a bad ass the classic marvel vampire hunter character “Blade”. The first movie set the tone and the second movie steps it up with the horror and gore. The Reapers will give your kids nightmares. This is not the avengers. You have been warned.

4.

This 1999 horror is perfect for the time of the year. The retelling story of The headless Horseman directed by Tim Burton is a very dark gothic tale opens up the world involving witchcraft, brutal murders and a very chilling atmosphere is a movie you can not pass up in the halloween season. Johnny Depp does a good job as “Ichabod Crane” and the “Headless Horseman” is cold blooded and brutal. I love this movie, I am surprised i don’t hear enough people talk about this movie when it comes to horror, maybe people don’t like this movie, i am not sure but this movie will always be on my list for Greatest horror  movie for me

5.

Okay, this movie is my childhood. I remember always renting it from Hollywood video (remember that place). The Ernest movies were great but very dumb but its another guilty pleasure and this was my favorite one of the series. The wacky story along with the creepy trolls that they created for this movie was so good and the way the trolls turned kids into wooden dolls was kind of chilling. If you are a 90s kid like i am then this movie will bring back good memories. For some reason i can never find this movie on any streaming services but if you come across it, give this movie a chance.

6.

Here’s another one parents can watch with their kids. This 20006 animation has great voice work and great animation to go with it. This movie is very fun to watch with your kids. And every halloween season needs a haunted house.

7.

Another classic comedy that blends a little horror into it that the kids may enjoy. Lord knows I did at six years old. This 1991 comedy is just great overall movie in my opinion. I remember being so excited to watch this in theaters and always watch it for the halloween season. Now Raul Julio (it was a a tuesday) plays the perfect Gomez and Christopher Lloyd as uncle Fester is incredible. You barely can recognize him. This is another one that the family can enjoy together.

8.

Forget Rotten Tomatoes. This late 90s dark comedy horror was just way to funny to pass on. Not to mention the gore and horror is just perfect and its set around Halloween time. I loved this movie as a teen and Jessica Alba had a lot to do with that. Overall this movie is too good to pass up. I don’t see it in streaming services and i think overall people forgot about this one but if you come across it, give it a chance, you may like it.

9.

Another horror classic thats hard to pass up for this time of the year. I mean the same alone is perfect for the halloween season. This monster of vengeance is out for blood and it will get it one way or the other. Now along with Phantasm this horror classic has been forgotten about. Now if you are into 80s horror movies like i am, this one will not disappoint and if you are disappointed then Pumpkinhead will come at you for revenge

10.

And at number 10 is the great “Trick R Treat”. This horror mythology set on Halloween night is the perfect halloween movie and I hope, if the rumors are true we will get a sequel one day. Overall this movie blends it all perfectly, humor, gore, deaths, halloween atmosphere and a great well rounded cast and great stories that all end up joining up nicely. This one should never be passed up if you are looking for the perfect halloween horror movie.

Now i know we have our own movies we like to watch during this time of the year and if you have one you would like to share to this blog you are more then welcome too. Overall its a time for fun i hope you have watching these movies i recommended and if not then i apologize for your bad taste in movies (i am joking). But come back next week to this blog as i rank the halloween movie franchise before the much anticipated “Halloween Kills”. I hope you guys have a fun and safe halloween season and enjoy the horror that comes with this great season.

The Lox vs Dipset.

I can remember a time back in my teenage days back in High School, being a 16 year old kid who was always blasting mostley west coast rap full blast before going to school every morning various rappers like “E-40”, “Too Short”, “C-Bo”, “Yukmouth”, “Mac Dre”, “Snoop Dogg”, “The Dogg pound” “Dj Quik” and etc. Also had a deep love for the south rap scene as well. But growing up it was all about the west for me, it was like a traditon passed down, my two older brothers and uncles and even my father who cant stand rap these days engraved it into my head. But east coast didnt get to much love. Some east coast rappers made it into the mix like “Nas”, “Rakim” “Wu-tang” “redman”. “DMX” and etc. Now we didnt hate east coast rap it was just the west was number 1 in my heart. But another East rap trio caught my attention a long time ago and and still blast their music to this day.

The Lox

I was a big fan of these guys ever since I heard them on “Money power and respect” featuring “Lil Kim” and “Dmx”.  “Sheek Louch”, Jadakiss” and Styles P” form the Lox. They had hits and each one was great on the mic and each one of them had good solo projects in my opinion. They convinced me in the late 90s to give east coast rappers more play in my to big to fit on my bookshelf cd player. As time went along and and going to highschool times and the rap scene somewhat changed. My fellow classmates started wearing pink which that hella caught me off guard. And then one faithful day after school I see “Camron” video “I really mean it” Camron comes out of the escalade wearing a pink coat and pink boots. Then i told myself “ohhh” when i figured it out.

Dipset

Dipset was everywhere, hit after hit, every house party, every time you turned on “Rap city tha basement” or “106th and park”. They just kept coming out with the tracks. I wasnt feeling their music but I could not deny or hate on their impact. And they did keep the parties going. Their music videos were cool to watch and they were trend setters when it came to fashion. They had it all, the swag that early 2000s teens wanted, they were killing it.

Over years, over all the hits and transitions every artist went through in their respected careers and it leads to something, something that could be possibly be bigger then all their hits combined. Their “Versuz” battle maybe the biggest. Now over the past year we have had differnent music artist get in on the action. You had “Snoop Dogg” vs the late great “DMX” (RIP). You also had Teddy Riley vs Babyface. Keisha Cole vs Ashanti, “Earth Wind and Fire” vs “the isley brothers”. (Steve Harvey ruined that one for me). Keith Sweat vs Bobby Brown and of course the controversial “Jeezy” vs “Gucci Mane”. My favorite one of course was “E-40” vs “Too Short”.

Then it was announced “The Lox vs “Dipset” Madison Square Garden.

The war of words

Leading up to the battle the set up was perfect and quite funny. The back and forths on social media were funny. I learned Styles P is hilarious as a internet Troll. The exchanges that him and Jim Jones had  kept my attentions on a high alert. I mean this guy from thr bay area who didn’t bump much east coast rap but this battle, this build up kept my attention and the more i saw more anxious I was getting. Then the day finally comes.

The stage is set, Madison Square Garden is packed with fans, rappers, athletes, thugs, gangsters etc. Michael Buffer the Michael Buffer is front in the middle of the stage. The lox comes out first to DMX “Intro”. I had goosebumps, it was like watching 3 Mike Tysons storming the stage. These guys were hella ready.

Then  it’s Dipset turn to come out and they came late. Camron arrives finally with a beach chair. One group was there to have fun while the other, well you saw what happened.

MVP!!!

Jadakiss came for blood and Dipset did not have a answer for him. He took over while calling Dipset for “lip- synching” he was funny, he performed great along with his fellow members. It was fun and high energy and the catalog songs that they were bringing out was great. I am not from NY but for a minute watching the performance I felt I was from NY.

What are we doing?

On the Dipset side they seemed off, low energy, forgetting lyrics, Jim Jones looks like he fell off stage, Juelz Santana prettt much throwing an Alley oop to the Lox with the “i dont think these dudes like girls” line and Freeky Zeaky looking like a Hype man dancer had me  in tears. From multiple youtube channels i heard Camron almost left before the battle even started. Dipset chemistry was off. But overall I still enjoyed the their performances.

The lox wanted to take over everything,..including shoes lol

There was quite a bit of funny parts. The shit talking was funny as hell, Camron trying to kick off Styles P. Camron and zeeky mocking The lox during the D block song with thier marching had me cracking up. I know some people and and crtics had issues with the antics and some of the words said towarda each other buts its all love.

Overall this was so fun to watch and this is my favorite versuz battle out of them all. And i hope this series continues and grows bigger bigger and it was great to see the crowd enjoying the show. I hope musicans take full advantage of this and keep this thing going. Now for a wish list verzuz, here are some I would love to see.

“Dr Dre vs DJ Quik” “Tha Dogg pound” vs “Outkast. “Bone Thugs and Harmony” vs “Three-6 mafia”. And alot more.

If you are a hip hop fan i recommend watching it, its fun as hell, funny, and just exciting to watch and if this isn’t your type of show well thats okay but just let people enjoy the show and keep moving. Hope everybody has a great weekend and stay safe.

Welcome Back to the Space Jam. Space Jam Legacy review

Looks like hes getting ready to trade this squad for Russel Westbrook.

So after a month of being away and doing some traveling. After getting back home me and my daughter decides to watch the new Space Jam movie. She loves basketball and loves Lebron so what the heck. Its a funny way to introduce her to “Looney Tunes” characters. I remember watching the first one as a kid with my cousons. I honestly didnt care to watch because growing up i couldnt stand Michael Jordan or the bulls. I grew up being a Golden State Warriors fans since i grew up in the bay area. Overall the orginal was fun and i ended up enjoying it. Fast foward 25 years and here i am again watching thr new one. Now im not a Lebron fan, i respect his game and everything he does for the kids and etc but once again, I am a warriors fan so i got some biterness towards him.

Overall I had fun watching it, sure it was hella cheesey and corney but what do you expect from this type of premise but the cgi was really cool to look at and seeing all the WB properties come to life. Lebron acting was very, very stale but i dont think this guy ever came and compared himself to a Leonardo Dicaprio.

The plot is out of this world, literally. Lebron James son “Dom James” played by the up and coming actor Cedric Joe who creates a basketball video game. His father wants him to focus on his game of basketball before he leaves for basketball camp but Dom has no interest. While all of this happening, a new villian Al-G Rhythm (get it?) Played by the great and my favorite actor Don Cheadle. AL-G Rhythm plots in the virtual world to gain more power and what better way to do that then use the most popular athlete in the world Lebron James. During a pitch meeting, Lebron and Dom have a falling out and Dom gets sucked in the virtual world and Lebron must save his son. Lebron jumps in the virtual world. Now to save his son, Lebron must defeat Al-G Rhythm in a basketball game created by Dom himself. Lebron needa help and he gets it from the new tune squad.

Now I know alot of people my age have been tearing down this movie. Ripping it apart but honestly it was just fun with very bad acting like the orginal. I am also not a hardcore fan of space Jam and I also dont mind these movies or cartoons being remade for kids. I will never tell my daughter she can not watch a cartoon or movie due to my anger or my nostalgia of something. Also like I said earlier my daughter loves Lebron so I am going to resepect her love for the man. And she is also playing basketball and getting pretty good at it. Overall I gve the movie a B-. I had fun watching it, rolled my eyes a couple of times but not in a serious way. The acting is bad and the plot is what it is. My daughter had fun watching it and I had fun watching it with her.

I know this will not be a very popular review since I have seen so much hate for Lebron on differen’t websites and blogs and grown men and women losing their stuff since this movie was announced. But overall itsa cute kids movie and I do not watch many of these type of movies. So if your kid is having fun and enjoys this type of stuff, do not kill their love for it, maybe give it a chance and maybe watch it with them and try to have fun with them.

Binge watch weekend

To all my my fellow nerds, fans of great animation and superhero content do I have a special gem for you to watch this weekend. If you are looking for something new to watch with great brutal action, something that you can somewhat enjoy a chuckle or two and get lost in a great story and listen to a great voice cast well your in luck. A comic book series that has been around since the early 2000s and is now getting its own show on Amazon Prime, I present to you

The premise: 17 year old Mark Greyson(voiced by the talented Steven Yeun) is not your average, sure to his friends he is your average teenager going to highschool and going through the issues that every teen would but behind closed doors he is the son to the most powerful superhero in the world “Omni-Man”. Voiced by the very talented (J. K. Simmons). As the world is full of turmoil, super villians and the epic loss of “Guardians of The Globe” the world is at a loss and now Mark Greyson who starts developing his powers knows that its time to step and become a superhero who is being trained by his father Onmi Man himself. He now becomes “Invincible”. As he trains he goes on adventures along with other superhero’s. As time as hero goes on it also casuses issues in his social life as a highschooler. Also something is very off about his father.

Overall I loves this show and I hope there will be a season 2. Now be warned to parents around my age with young kids. This defiantly not a show for the young ones but if you are a parent that allows young kids to watch content like this well you’re cool in my book. There is alot of blood and guts in this. The death toll is up there but if that is your thing then this show is for you. But there to this show then just action. The show and comic book honors the traditon of comic book storytelling. The chemistry between the characters is on point and the animation is just beautiful.

There is alot of great adult humor that is not forced. This isnt your Mcu formula show so dont expect a joke the end of every fight scene. The voicing talent is incredible. You got to love J.K. Simmons as Omni- Man, he knocks it out of the park in my opinion. The show has so much going on for it, I hope it continues for years and if you are a fan of this show, I say thank you and the reason why I say that is the more support it gets then we will get more seasons. Now I don’t know much about the history of this character or story but I am going to give it a shot and learn more.

The villians are amazing on this, but the main one, well if you havent watched it yet I am not going to be the one to spoil it but you find out real early.

Overall grade I give this show a 10/10. I have no complaints except for when I had to wait a week for the next episode but thats okay because now all 8 episodes are out for your enjoyment. So if you have no plans this upcoming weekend and need something to watch then give Invincible a shot. And if you are dissapointed then you have no pulse. I am just joking but please enjoy and have a great and safe weekend.

Binge Watch Weekend.

Good morning today is the first for my blog. Every friday i will recommend a show to check out if you are stuck at home for the weekend. If you are one of those people who binge shows at rapid fire pace or just like to take your time and enjoy the show when you actually get the time due to a busy schedule. Well today i have a very highly recommended show and this show will not dissapoint if you are into brutal action, historic events, great story, great acting and overall just being glued to the screen. Well the show is called

As a life long fan of martial arts and also into historic shows, this was a dynamic i could not turn off. One episode with the wife every night after a long day made our evening complete. The show is based off the late great Bruce Lee before his passing.

The premise: A young chinese by the name of Ah Sahm (played by Andrew Koji) man travels the across the seas to San Francisco, CA in the late 1800s in order find his sister and also to escape a life that he really had no choice but to escape. When he makes it to San Francisco, well things do not turn out the way he really wanted. Dealing with gangsters, rascism, cops, and a differnt world that is not very accepting of him and his people. Chinatown becomes his home that he has to go through various battles, adventures.

The cast is amazing overall with Jason Tobin playing the young hot headed gangster playing (young Jun). Joe Taslim from “The Raid” and “The swordsmen” plays the wise but deadly (Li Yong). And many more great actors and characters fill this show with awesome entertainment. Andrew Koji seems to channel the energy and Bruce Lee in his character very well, from his attitude, fighting style, his energy, and his intensity in the heat of the fight scenes along with his swagger and confidence.

And to all the readers and fans of this show, if you have not heard, WE ARE GETTING A THIRD SEASON!!! on Hbo Max. Do not when it is coming out but all i know is those petitons finally paid off. Overall score i give the show a ten out of ten. Most entertaining show out there next to “Invincible”. I hope you enjoy the show and if you are not a martial arts fan there is other elimantes to this show that i think will help you keep your interest. So have this weekend and enjoy the show. Be safe and have fun my friends.

MORTAL KOMBAT REVIEW spoiler free

Orginally i wasnt going to do a review of this movie but i remembered that this was orginally going to be a geek culture blog before i seen all the toxicness that comes with it. Since i have always been a die hard fan of mortal kombat since i was 6 years old. Too me this movie did not dissapoint me at all. Ive heard the negative reviews and from youtubers and other social media sites and thats okay. Me personsally i loved it. I had some issues with it but i am not much of a nitpicker when it comes to movies. This one was really fun, loved the bloodshed and the action. I loved the easter eggs and i love the set up to the next movies (i got my fingers crossed). I know i will catch some flack for this review but whatever.

It was great to watch it from the comfort of my own since theaters are still not open in my town. Overall the action was great, the story was kind of short but i can understand why even though i wish it was longer. The story had some changes from the original lore like the way the fighters were chosen for the tournament and the addition of “Cole Young” (which i was a fan of).

The characters were cool to see come alive again especially my boy Kung Lao. “Sub Zero” reminded me alot of “Michae Myers” in some scenes which i thought was incredible. I enjoyed seeing another one of my favorites Kabal get some screen time. “Kano” who i was never really a fan of may have actually been my favorite in the movie. I enjoyed the new “Shang Tsung” and Raiden as well. “Jax” did the damn thing and sonya was spot on. For the dissapointment in some of the characters like General Reiko who i have been a huge fan of since his debut in MK4, well he was kind of just there lol but what can you do? Now for the new character “Cole Young”. I enjoyed him alot and also i was happy the continued the traditon of adding a new character like they have always done in every game that has came out. Also always been a huge fan of Lewis Tan since seeing him in “Iron Fist” and “Into The Bad Lands”. He brought some heart into the film and i hope to see more of him in the future sequel films. No johnny cage was not a issue for ne since i have never really been a fan of him but im sure we may see him in future films as well. I enjoyed the performances overall and it was great to see Joe Taslim as sub zero go up against Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion (my all time favorite mk character). Ludi Lin was amazing as “Liu Kang”as well.

We also should remember that this is pre tourmaent time so dont expect the much honor among the villans in this film even though they dont really have honor in the video games either. The story goes really fast kind of how the first games were especially when there was no pause button in the first two games.

Overall i had alot of fun, so much fun i watched it twice. I hope for alot of success for this movie where maybe another movie studio will take chance with another great fighting games series that i have loved since i was 3 years old. “Street Fighter”. One can only hope. Overall for a MK movie i give it a 9/10 just wish it was longer and the editing could use some work imo. For a overall movie i give it a 8.5/10. Keep in my mind i am not a vert strict critic, i dont really watch movies to really critique them for a youtube page but i do plan on starting to give viewers some movie suggestions in future and focus more on the geek culture again just for fun. As for theories well i have a few but i dont want to spoil much for the readers just in case you if people not watched it yet.

I can understand people’s complaints about the movie but at the end the issues dont bother me that much as long it doesnt take away my fun from the movie. Im not going to compare it to the 95 film since times have changed so much and both have their differences and both are great in their own rights. Now if you dissagree i am totally fine with but lets remember to keep it respectful. I have seen the toxic and over the top debats that go online about this topic.
